Schema in WordPress
The Schema tab of the On-Page SEO box gives you three ways to add JSON-LD schema to a page: assign a schema you built in the Xagio panel, answer a few questions in the Schema Wizard, or generate one with AI. It also shows what the page outputs and checks it for errors. Your business profile, set once in SEO Settings > Profiles, feeds AI schema and Agent X.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- The plugin must be connected to your Xagio account. Schemas are stored in your panel.
- To assign a schema, build it first in the panel. See Build schema with the Schema builder. To reuse schema from another website, copy it in the panel first. See Copy schema from another website and validate it.
- AI schema works on every plan. It needs a Xag balance above 0.
Fill in your business profile
Section titled “Fill in your business profile”The Profiles tab stores your business contact details and the URLs of your business listings and social accounts. Agent X and AI schema generation read these values, so filling them in once gives you more complete schema without retyping.
- In WordPress, go to Xagio > SEO Settings.
- Open the Profiles tab.
- Fill in the fields you have. Leave the rest empty.
Fields save automatically a moment after you stop typing. You see “Profiles saved.”
Contact Details: Business Name, Business Address, Business City, Business State/Province, Business Country, Business ZIP/Postal, Business Phone, Business Alternate Phone, Business Email.
Profile URLs, grouped by type:
- Business Directories: Google Business Profile, Yelp, Bing Places, BBB.org, Angi, Yellow Pages, Foursquare
- Map Services: Apple Maps Connect
- Professional Networks: Indeed, AngelList, Meetup
- Industry-Specific Directories: Healthgrades, Zocdoc, Houzz, Thumbtack, The Knot, WeddingWire, Lawyers.com, Avvo, Clutch
- Social Media: Facebook, Youtube, Instagram, Linked In, X, Tiktok, Pinterest

- Local Listings: TripAdvisor
- E-Commerce Platforms: Amazon Business, Etsy, Shopify, Walmart Marketplace, BigCommerce
- Mobile App Directories: Apple App Store, Google Play Store, Amazon Appstore, Samsung Galaxy Store
Paste the full URL of each profile, for example your Google Business Profile link.
Where your profile is used:
- AI schema: when you select Generate Schema on a page, the Profiles Settings window opens pre-filled with these values. You can change them for that page before you continue.
- Agent X: the Modify Profile Data step in Agent X uses the same fields. Changes there update this tab too.
Assign a schema from the panel
Section titled “Assign a schema from the panel”- Edit the page in WordPress.
- In the On-Page SEO box, open the Schema tab.
- Under Assign Schema, select Assign Schema(s). The Local Schema(s) window lists the schemas in your panel.
- Filter with Schema Group, Schema Type or Search.
- Select the add icon next to a schema to assign it (“Assign this schema to the current page.”). You can assign more than one.
The schema appears under Assigned Schema and the page saves. If you pick a schema that is already assigned, you see “This Schema has been already assigned for this page!”
To remove one, select the delete icon next to it under Assigned Schema (“Unassign this schema from the current page.”), then update the page. To edit one, select its name; it opens in the Schema Editor in the Xagio panel.
You can use Xagio shortcodes such as %%title%% and %%currurl%% inside schema properties. They fill in per page, so one schema can serve many pages.
Use the Schema Wizard
Section titled “Use the Schema Wizard”The wizard builds a schema for this page without opening the Schema Editor.
- On the Schema tab, under Schema Wizard, select Schema Wizard.
- What is this post about? Pick a type: Article, Product, Service, LocalBusiness or Organization.
- Fill in the fields. Name, image and similar fields are pre-filled from the page where possible.
- Give the schema a unique name, so you can find it later in the Schema Editor.
- Select Generate Schema.
The schema is saved to your panel and assigned to this page, and the page reloads. To add more properties later, open it in the Schema Editor.
Generate schema with AI
Section titled “Generate schema with AI”Generate Schema using AI writes JSON-LD structured data for a page and assigns it to that page. It uses the page’s H1, SEO title, description and URL, plus your business, contact and social details. The schema is also saved to your Xagio panel, so you can edit it later in the Schema Editor.
Fill in the page title (H1), and the SEO title and SEO description on the SEO tab first.
- Edit the page in WordPress.
- In the On-Page SEO box, open the Schema tab.
- Under Generate Schema using AI, select Generate Schema. The Profiles Settings window opens.
- Check the three tabs and fill in anything missing for this page:
- SEO Data: Post Title/H1, SEO Title, SEO Description, Post URL, Logo and Image.
- Business Data: your contact details, pre-filled from SEO Settings > Profiles.
- Social Data: your profile URLs, pre-filled from SEO Settings > Profiles.
- Select Next. The Requesting AI Input window shows the average cost and your remaining Xags.
- Select Continue.
The button shows Generating Schema… while the request runs. When it finishes, the new schema appears under Assigned Schema on the Schema tab. It is named “AI for [page title], [date]”. To change it, select its edit link under Assigned Schema. It opens in the Schema Editor in the Xagio panel.
Render and validate
Section titled “Render and validate”Under Validate Schema:
- Render Schema(s) shows the full JSON-LD block (
<script type="application/ld+json">) Xagio outputs for this page. - Validate Schema sends the page’s live URL to the schema.org validator and lists the results:
- “Valid Schema(s) detected!” with the types found.
- Warnings for fields that are “optional but should be in Schema.”
- Errors for fields that are “required and it needs to be set in Schema.”
- “No Schema(s) detected!” if the live page has none.
Validation reads the published page, so publish or update the page first, and clear your cache if you use one.
What it costs
Section titled “What it costs”- Assigning, the Schema Wizard, rendering and validating are free.
- AI schema costs 0.02 Xags per 1,000 tokens, multiplied by the prompt’s price factor. The Requesting AI Input window shows the average price before you run it.
