Find issues before they cost you
The Issues section in the left menu finds pages and keywords that are losing ground, so you can fix them before the traffic is gone.
60-Day Drops
Section titled “60-Day Drops”Pages and keywords that lost clicks compared with the previous period of the same length. Only items that had clicks before and lost some are listed, with the change in position. Pick Last 28 days for month-on-month.
Check the biggest drops first. A position drop points to a competitor or a page change. A drop in searches is often seasonal.
Content Decay
Section titled “Content Decay”Pages in slow, steady decline. The report compares clicks in four rolling 28-day windows. A page that falls window after window is decaying. One more than 60% below its best window has crashed.
Refresh the content: update facts and dates, add sections competitors cover, and merge thin pages on the same topic into it.
Lost Keywords
Section titled “Lost Keywords”Searches that brought clicks in the previous period and bring none now. Keywords that no longer appear at all are marked as completely gone.
Find out why (page removed or changed, a redirect, a competitor), then improve the page that used to rank.
Cannibalization
Section titled “Cannibalization”Searches where Google showed two or more of your pages, splitting the ranking between them. High priority means three or more competing pages, or 100 or more impressions.
Pick one main page per search. Merge the others into it or point them to it, and make internal links for that search go to the main page.
Intent Mismatch
Section titled “Intent Mismatch”Pages in the top 20 for a search with 30 or more impressions but a CTR under 0.5%: shown, but almost nobody clicks. High severity means 300 or more impressions.
Change the page to answer that search, or create a page that does and link to it.
