"Build it for me" vs "Let me review the plan"

On the Plan step of the setup wizard, How should we build this? has two answers. Build it for me runs everything from research to a built site with no stops. Let me review the plan stops after the research so you approve the pages before Studio spends more Xags.

Build it for me Let me review the plan
Who picks the pages Studio keeps the highest-scoring pages, up to Maximum pages to build You approve, exclude and edit pages
Pauses for you No Yes, after keyword grouping
Competition, SEO, content, images Run automatically Run after you click Optimize
Logo Taken from the Media step. If you set none, the header shows your business name as text You can set it on the project page while Studio works, or at the build screen
Site build Starts automatically when the pages are written Starts when you click Build my website
Default No Yes
  1. On the Plan step, click Build it for me.
  2. Set Maximum pages to build (1 to 500, default 10). Studio keeps the highest-scoring pages and sets the rest aside.
  3. Set up your logo and images on the Media step if you want them. Studio does not stop to ask later.
  4. Finish the wizard and click Plan my site.

Studio then shows a progress list for the project:

  1. Researching keywords & grouping pages
  2. Selecting your top pages
  3. Analyzing competition
  4. Writing SEO titles & descriptions
  5. Writing page content
  6. Structured data (schema): added on publish or download
  7. Generating images (only if you chose unique images)

You can leave the page; the work runs in the background. When the pages are written, Studio builds the site on its own. See Build your website.

  1. On the Plan step, click Let me review the plan.
  2. Finish the wizard and click Plan my site.
  3. When research ends, Studio opens your plan. Review the pages: approve, exclude, rename, move keywords and choose your home page. See Work with your plan.
  4. Click Optimize. Studio checks competition, then writes the SEO and content for every planned page.
  5. While it works, set up your logo in the Set up your logo panel on the project page.
  6. When every page is ready, click BUILD MY WEBSITE, then Build my website.
  • Choose Build it for me when you trust Studio to pick the pages and want a finished site with no further clicks.
  • Choose Let me review the plan when you want to control which pages get built, fix page names or keyword grouping, or check the competition cost before you spend it.

Both modes charge the same rates for each stage. Build it for me spends Xags on every stage without stopping, so set Maximum pages to build to control the size of the site. With Let me review the plan, Studio spends nothing beyond the research until you click Optimize. See What a Studio project costs.
