Marketplace fees
Listing a site is free. When a sale completes, a success fee and the card processing cost come out of the seller’s payout. Buyers pay only the price.
Buyers
Section titled “Buyers”You pay the asking price, or the offer price you agreed with the seller. There is no buyer fee.
Sellers: the success fee
Section titled “Sellers: the success fee”The fee is a flat percentage of the whole sale price. The bracket the price falls in sets the rate for the entire price.
| Sale price | Success fee |
|---|---|
| Under $25,000 | 15% |
| $25,000 to under $100,000 | 10% |
| $100,000 and above | 10% (negotiable) |
- The minimum fee is $75.
- The fee is never more than the sale price.
Sellers: card processing
Section titled “Sellers: card processing”Stripe’s actual card fee for the buyer’s payment is also deducted from your payout. Before a sale, the Marketplace shows an estimate of 2.9% + 30¢. The real figure is on your payout statement after the sale.
What you receive
Section titled “What you receive”Payout = sale price − success fee − card processing − any partial refund from a dispute.
Examples (card processing is the estimate):
| Price | Fee | Processing (est.) | You receive |
|---|---|---|---|
| $300 | $75 (minimum) | $9.00 | $216.00 |
| $5,000 | $750 | $145.30 | $4,104.70 |
| $10,000 | $1,500 | $290.30 | $8,209.70 |
In the listing editor, the sidebar box Your net at asking price shows Price, Success fee, Card processing (est.) and You receive for your current asking price.
When you are paid
Section titled “When you are paid”The payout transfers to your Stripe account when the buyer confirms the handover, or automatically 72 hours after you complete the checklist with no dispute. Stripe then pays your bank on its own schedule. See Hand over the site and get paid.
