Conditional formatting templates

Conditional formatting colors each keyword’s Volume, CPC, inTitle, inURL, TR and UR values red, yellow or green, so you can spot good keywords at a glance. You pick the thresholds and save them as a template. It is free.

  1. On the folder list, select Manage > Conditional Formatting.
  2. The Conditional Formatting Setup window opens. The active template is marked with *.

Three templates come with every account: Default, Affiliate and Local.

Metric Default Affiliate Local
Volume: red below / green from 20 / 100 100 / 1,000 10 / 100
CPC: red below / green from 0.59 / 1.00 1.00 / 2.00 2.00 / 5.00
inTitle and inURL: red above / green below 1,000 / 250 10,000 / 1,000 1,000 / 100

All three color Title Ratio and URL Ratio red above 1 and green below 0.25. Values between the red and green limits are yellow.

The Title Ratio and URL Ratio tabs also set a golden ratio bar. It marks keywords whose TR is already green, whose volume is at or below InTitle Golden Ratio Bar Volume (default 1,000) and whose inTitle is at or below InTitle Golden Ratio Bar In Title (default 20). The URL Ratio tab has the same two settings for inURL.

  1. In Local Template, choose — (empty), or select Add Template.
  2. Fill in the Red, Yellow and Green limits on each tab: Volume, CPC, InTitle, InURL, Title Ratio and URL Ratio. Every field needs a value of 0 or more.
  3. Select Save Template and enter a name.
  • Apply: choose the template in Local Template and select Apply. It becomes your active template for every project.
  • Edit: choose the template, change the values, and select Save Template.
  • Delete: choose the template and select Delete Template.
  • “Please input correct condition!”: a limit is missing or out of order. Check that red, yellow and green do not overlap.
  • “All fields must be at last 0 and cannot be empty”: fill every field on every tab.
  • “Template with this name already exist, please choose a different name”: use another name.
  • “You cannot delete Default Template”: the Default template is always kept.
  • TR or UR shows a dash: get volume and competition data first. See Get search volume, CPC and competition data.
