Hand over the site and get paid

When a buyer pays, the money is held by Xagio and the handover starts. You transfer each item on the checklist and show the buyer how to verify it. You are paid when the buyer confirms, or automatically after the confirmation window.

Open the deal from Deals & offers (or Sales on My listings) and click Open.

  • You have 7 days after the buyer’s payment to complete the checklist. The deal page shows the Handover deadline.
  • When every item is done, the buyer has 72 hours to confirm or dispute. If they do nothing, the payout is sent automatically.
  • If you miss the deadline, Xagio staff are told. They may extend it once if you are responsive, or refund the buyer if not.

Every deal has these items, each with a How to do it guide:

  • Domain transferred to the buyer (registrar push or auth code)
  • Hosting / DNS access handed over or site migrated
  • Phone number and call tracking reassigned
  • CRM, automations, form endpoints and other assets transferred

If the site runs on Xagio Hosting or Studio in your Xagio account, there is also Xagio Hosting / Studio site moved to the buyer’s Xagio account. Click Ask Xagio to move it. Xagio staff move the site to the buyer’s Xagio account and mark the item done.

  1. Do the transfer (push the domain, migrate the site, port the number, and so on).
  2. Fill in the item’s details, for example Registrar and How.
  3. Under How can the buyer verify it?, write what you did, for example “pushed at Namecheap to account ‘buyer123’ on Sep 3”.
  4. Optionally attach Evidence (a screenshot or PDF).
  5. Click Mark done.

After you mark an item done, click Add next to its protected field (for example the Auth / EPP code or a hosting login). The value is encrypted, and only the buyer can reveal it. Each item holds up to 5 protected values. They are erased 14 days after the deal closes. Change any password you shared once the buyer has taken over.

To add another asset you are handing over (for example “GA4 admin access”), type it at the bottom of the checklist and click Add item. You can remove items you added with Remove item. Use Add evidence to attach more files. A deal holds up to 12 items and 40 evidence files (PNG, JPG, WebP or PDF, 8 MB each).

The item reopens and the payout pauses. You get at least 72 hours to fix it, even if that moves past the original deadline. Fix it, explain in the deal conversation, and mark it done again.

When the buyer clicks Confirm handover & release payment, or 72 hours pass after you finish the checklist with no dispute, your payout transfers to your Stripe account. Stripe then pays your bank on its schedule.

Your payout is the price minus the success fee and Stripe’s actual card fee. The deal page Money box shows each figure. See Marketplace fees.

When the deal completes, the Documents section on the deal page has Payout statement (PDF). Statements are numbered like MK-S-000123.

  • “Say how the buyer can verify this item (a note or the details above).” Fill in the note or the item’s details.
  • “Xagio staff complete this item after moving the site. Use “Ask Xagio to move it”.“
  • “The checklist can only be updated during handover.” The deal is not in handover (it is unpaid, closed or disputed).
  • “A deal can have at most 12 items.” / “Up to 40 files per deal.”
