Claim and install templates (template credits)

The Templates page in the Xagio panel is the template library. You preview templates, claim the ones you want with a template credit, and then install them on any of your WordPress sites with the Xagio plugin.

Before you start

  • Your plan needs the Templates feature. If it doesn’t, Templates is not in the sidebar.
  • You need a template credit for each template you claim. See Template credits.

Find a template

  1. In the sidebar, under WORDPRESS, select Templates.
  2. Use the filters to narrow the list:
    • Search Templates… to search by name.
    • Select Category to show one type of business.
    • Show Claimed Only or Show Unclaimed Only.
    • Show Gutenberg Only or Show Elementor Only.
  3. Select Preview on a template to open a live demo in a new tab.

Claim a template

  1. Find the template.
  2. Select Claim template.

The claim uses one credit and the button changes to Download. A claimed template stays yours: you can use it on any of your sites, as often as you like.

Install a template on your site

Install claimed templates from the Xagio plugin in WordPress: go to Xagio Settings > Templates, find the template and pick the Gutenberg or Elementor version. You can also claim templates there. See Install Xagio templates from the plugin.

Installing overwrites the site’s existing content for that editor. Back up the site first.

Download a template

  1. On a claimed template, select Download.
  2. In Download Template, select Download Template.

The template downloads as a ZIP file. Only claimed templates can be downloaded. The file name always contains “elementor”, even for the Gutenberg version.

Template credits

Template credits are separate from Xags. The Templates page shows how many you have:

  • monthly claims come with your plan. On your billing day each month they reset to your plan’s monthly number. Unused monthly claims do not carry over.
  • bonus claims never expire. You can get them from the Xagio store or the referral program.

Monthly claims are used first, then bonus claims. If your plan includes unlimited claims, the page shows Unlimited and claiming does not use credits.

What it costs

Claiming uses template credits, not Xags. Downloading and installing a claimed template is free.

Troubleshooting

Section titled “Troubleshooting”
  • “Sorry you do not have any template claims available. Please upgrade your account to receive them” You have no monthly or bonus claims left. Upgrade your plan or buy templates in the Xagio store, using the links in the message.
  • “No templates match your selected filters or search.” Clear the search or change the filters.
