AI content, meta and the AI Assistant

The plugin uses AI in three places: Optimize With AI on a keyword group suggests the H1, SEO title and meta description; the AI Content tab of the On-Page SEO box writes page content; and the front-end Xagio AI Assistant rewrites text and edits images on your live site. For AI schema, see Schema in WordPress.

  • Your site must be connected to your Xagio account.
  • AI features work on every plan. They need a Xag balance above 0.
  • You need enough Xags. See What it costs.

Optimize With AI reads the keywords in a group and suggests H1s, SEO titles and meta descriptions built around them. You pick the ones you like and save them to the group.

The group needs at least one keyword. For better results, run Get Competition first. Without inTitle and inURL data, the plugin warns: “You are about to optimize without competition metrics in consideration. This will provide a lower quality result.”

  1. Open the project in Xagio > Project Planner.
  2. On the group, open the AI tools menu (AI icon) and select Optimize With AI.
  3. In AI Optimization Settings, optionally pick a main keyword. “You can leave this option empty and let AI choose the best focus keyword for you.”
  4. Select Continue.
  5. In Requesting AI Input, check the average cost and your remaining Xags, then select Continue.

The suggestions are processed in the background. “You can leave this page and come back later to check the results.”

  1. Open the AI tools menu on the group and select View AI Suggestions.
  2. Pick one option under H1 Suggestions, Titles Suggestions and Description Suggestions. You can edit a suggestion before you use it.
  3. Select Use & Save To Group. The group’s fields are updated and saved.

To get a fresh set, select Regenerate AI Suggestions in the same menu. That is a new paid request.

Watch the length counters under each group: Meta Title Length (70 desktop / 78 mobile) and Meta Description Length (300 desktop / 120 mobile).

The AI Content tab of the On-Page SEO box writes page content for you. It uses the page’s H1, SEO title and SEO description as the brief, in the writing style and tone you pick. You review the result and insert it into the page when you are happy with it.

Fill in the page title (H1), and the SEO title and SEO description on the SEO tab first. Generation stops without them.

  1. Edit the page in WordPress.
  2. In the On-Page SEO box, open the AI Content tab.
  3. Under Generate AI Content, pick a Writing Style (for example Informative, Conversational or Persuasive) and a Content Tone (for example Friendly, Authoritative or Neutral).
  4. Select Generate. The Requesting AI Input window opens.
  5. Check Average XAGS cost for this is and Your remaining XAGS are. If more than one prompt is available, pick one from the list.
  6. Select Continue.

The request runs in the background. You can keep working; the result appears in the editor below when it is ready.

  1. Read and edit the generated text in the editor on the AI Content tab.
  2. Select Insert.

In the block editor (Gutenberg), Insert replaces the page’s blocks with the generated content. In the classic editor, it inserts the content at the cursor. Save or update the page to keep it.

History lists every generation for this page, newest first, with its date. Select an entry to load it into the editor, then Insert it.

On sites with Elementor, the tab also shows Generate Elementor Template AI Content. Select Generate Template to write AI content into the page’s Elementor template, then Replace Generated Content to apply it. The same cost window opens first.

The Xagio AI Assistant works on your live site, not in the editor. Turn it on from the WordPress admin bar, click a piece of text or an image on the page, add an instruction if you want, and AI rewrites the text or edits or generates the image in place. On Elementor pages, every change is backed up so you can restore the previous version.

Before you start:

  • You must be logged in as an Administrator and viewing the live site with the admin bar showing.
  • The page must be built with Elementor or use the Kadence theme. On other pages, the assistant does not appear.
  1. Open a page of your site while logged in.
  2. In the admin bar, select Enable Xagio AI Assistant. A panel opens showing your xRenew and xBank balance.
  3. Hover over the page. The element under your cursor is highlighted. Click the text or image you want to change.
  4. The panel shows Selected Text or Selected Image, the current content, and the cost of the edit in xR.
  5. Type an instruction in Additional Prompt, for example “make this shorter and friendlier” or “change the background to a sunset”. This is optional for text.
  6. Select the send button.

The element shows a loading state while AI works, then updates in place. Select Disable Xagio AI Assistant in the admin bar when you are done.

When you select the site logo, Additional Prompt is pre-filled with a prompt for a transparent, wide logo built from your page’s H1.

  1. With the assistant on, select Backups in the panel.
  2. In Elementor Backups, pick a backup and restore it. Confirm “Restore this backup? This will overwrite current Elementor content.”
  3. To clean up, delete a single backup, or select Delete All (“Delete ALL backups for this page? This cannot be undone.”).

Backups are kept for Elementor pages only. On Kadence pages, there is no Backups link, so note the original text before you change it.

  • Optimize With AI and AI content: 0.02 Xags per 1,000 tokens, multiplied by the prompt’s price factor. The Requesting AI Input window shows the average price before you run it.
  • AI Assistant text: the AI text prompt price, 0.02 Xags per 1,000 tokens multiplied by the prompt’s price factor.
  • AI Assistant images: the AI image prompt price.

The Assistant panel shows the cost of the selected edit before you send it. See Xag costs.

  • “Please make sure that group has at least one keyword.”: add keywords to the group first.
  • “Xagio SEO Title & Xagio SEO Description is necessary to be filled in order to generate AI Content.” Fill both in on the SEO tab.
  • “Post Title (aka H1) is necessary to be filled in order to generate AI Content.” Add a page title.
  • “You do not have enough AI Credits, please top up and try again!” Your balance is below the average cost. Buy xBanks or wait for your next xRenew. See Buy xBanks.
  • Upgrade your Account window. Your plan does not include AI features. Select Upgrade Now! to see upgrade options.
  • “AI request is already made for this page.” A request for this page is still running. Wait for it to finish.
  • The admin bar has no Enable Xagio AI Assistant link. The page is not an Elementor page and the site does not use the Kadence theme, or you are inside the Elementor editor. Open the live page instead.
  • “You do not have enough XAGs to process this action!” Your balance is below the cost. See Buy xBanks.
  • “Cannot send: missing data-id on Elementor text element” or “Cannot send: missing block identifier on Gutenberg text element”. The assistant could not identify that element. Select the text block itself, not its container, or edit it in the page editor.
  • “Failed to send”. The request did not reach your account. Check the site is connected and try again.
