Add sub-users and control what they can see

Sub-users are extra logins inside your Xagio account. Each sub-user has their own username and password, sees only the websites you choose, and can’t use the features you hide. They work in your account without needing your password.

Before you start

Your plan must include sub-users. The number is extra logins on top of your own: Xagio One Lite lets you add 1, Pro 5 and Agency 20. See Xagio One plans compared or Legacy plans.
Only the account owner can add, edit or delete sub-users.

If your plan has no team seats, the page shows Upgrade to add team seats instead.

Add a sub-user

In the panel sidebar, select Sub Users (under MANAGE).
Select Add sub user.
Enter a username in Choose Username and a password in Choose Password.
Under Select Websites this account can manage, select the sites this person can see. To pick all sites with a tag, use Or select website by tag. Select All and Deselect All help with long lists.
Under Hide Selected Features From Account, select every feature this person should not see.
Select Save Changes.

Give the sub-user their username and password. They sign in at app.xagio.net/signin like any other user.

Features you can hide

Shop, My License, Download Plugin, Hosting, My Plugins/Themes, Templates, Schemas, Backups, Backup Settings, Project Planner, Niche Hunter, Rank Tracker, Whitelabel, Settings, Referral System, Plans & Billing, Credits & Usage, Sub Users and Manage Tags.

Hidden features disappear from the sub-user’s sidebar and menus.

What sub-users can and can’t do

They see only the websites you selected. They don’t see the list of your hosted sites.
They spend Xags from your account balance.
They can’t create, edit or delete sub-users.
They can’t use the Xagio Marketplace.
A sub-user session lasts up to 4 hours, then they sign in again.
If your account is suspended or cancelled, sub-users can’t sign in.

Edit a sub-user

On Sub Users, select the Edit button on the sub-user’s row.
Change their password, websites or hidden features.
Select Save Changes.

To check what a sub-user sees, select their username on the Sub Users page and confirm. You are switched into their view.

Delete a sub-user

On Sub Users, select the Delete button on the sub-user’s row.
Confirm. The sub-user’s login stops working right away.

Troubleshooting

“You have reached the limit of sub account you can create on your account.” All your team seats are in use. Delete a sub-user you no longer need, or move to a plan with more seats.
“Username “…” already exists. Please choose a different one.“ Usernames are unique across all Xagio accounts. Pick another.
“Password field cannot be empty!” Enter a password for the new sub-user.
“Sub-accounts cannot manage other sub-accounts.” You are signed in as a sub-user. Sign in as the account owner.
