Make an offer

You can offer less than the asking price on any live listing priced up to $10,000. The seller can accept, decline or counter. When a price is agreed, you pay it through checkout.

  • You need to be signed in.
  • The listing must be live, and priced at $10,000 or less. Listings above $10,000 don’t take offers: use Contact us to buy. See Buy a site.
  • Offers start at $100.
  • You can’t offer more than the asking price.
  • The seller only considers offers of at least 50% of the asking price.
  • Each offer or counter expires after 48 hours if nobody answers.
  • You can have one open offer per listing at a time.
  1. Open the listing and find Make an offer.
  2. Enter your amount and an optional note to the seller.
  3. Click Send offer.

The listing now shows “Your offer of … is with the seller.” Your offers are also listed on Deals & offers under Offers.

  • Accepted: a deal opens at that price. Go to the listing and click Pay (agreed price), or open the deal from Deals & offers, and pay through checkout.
  • Declined: you get an e-mail with the seller’s note, if they left one. You can make a new offer.
  • Countered: the listing shows “The seller countered at …”. You can Accept, Counter (enter an amount and click Send counter) or Decline. Accepting a counter takes you straight to checkout.

To take back an offer you sent, click Withdraw while it is still open.

  • “Offers start at $100.” Raise the amount.
  • “You cannot go above the asking price of …” Use Buy now instead.
  • “The seller only considers offers of at least … (50% of asking).” Raise your offer to at least half the asking price.
  • “You already have an open offer on this listing. Withdraw it first or wait for the seller.”
  • “You already have a deal in progress on this listing.” Open it from Deals & offers.
  • “That is the same amount; accept it instead.” A counter must differ from the offer on the table.
  • “This offer has expired.” Make a new offer.
  • “Offers on sites above $10,000 go through our team. Use “Contact us” on the listing.“
  • “The seller cannot receive payouts right now.” The seller’s payouts are not set up, so the site can’t be bought yet.
