Edit your site after the build
After Studio builds your site, you can change it in the site editor. The editor has three modes, picked with the buttons above the preview: AI Chat, Live Edit and HTML. Every change is saved as a new version, so you can always go back. See Restore an earlier version.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”The build must be finished. While it runs, the editor shows “You can edit once the build finishes.”
Ask for changes with AI Chat
Section titled “Ask for changes with AI Chat”Use AI Chat for changes you would rather describe than make by hand, such as rewriting a section, adding a paragraph or changing wording across pages.
- Click AI Chat.
- Type what you want in Describe a change… and send it.
- The assistant reads your pages, makes the change and tells you what it changed. The preview updates.
The assistant can see and edit every page, including the Contact, Privacy and Terms pages. If it needs more information, it asks a question and waits for your answer. A long chat is kept, so you can come back to it later. If your connection drops while it is working, the changes it already made are saved.
Edit text and images with Live Edit
Section titled “Edit text and images with Live Edit”Use Live Edit for direct changes on the page.
- Click Live Edit.
- Click an element on the page to select it. A settings panel opens beside the preview.
- To change the words, double-click the text and type. Press Enter or click away to save. Press Esc to cancel.
- To change the look, use the panel: Size, Font, Weight, Style (italic, underline), Alignment and Text color. Click Save changes to keep it.
Links are paused while Live Edit is on. Leave Live Edit to click through a link.
Text you change in the header or footer is changed on every page.
Replace an image
Section titled “Replace an image”- In Live Edit, click an image.
- Pick a source in the image panel:
- Library: an image already on your site.
- Upload: an image from your computer (JPG, PNG or WebP). Studio converts it to a web-ready file sized for that spot.
- AI: a new image from your description. Choose Model, Quality and Dimensions. You can tick Use image as reference to start from the current image. You see an estimate first; the exact charge shows after the image is made.
- Crop: reframe the current image.
- The new image previews on the page. Click Save image to keep it.
When you click the site logo, the panel works the same way. Logo uploads can be PNG, JPG, WebP or SVG. Click Save across site to apply the logo to the header and footer of every page.
View the page code with HTML
Section titled “View the page code with HTML”Click HTML to see the stored code for the current page. This view is read only. Use Head, SEO, Scripts and Body to show only those parts, and Find in HTML… to search.
What it costs
Section titled “What it costs”- Live Edit text and formatting changes: free.
- AI Chat: each message is charged by how much AI work it takes. Before the first chat message on a project, you need at least 2 Xags in your balance (this is a check, not a charge). With your own OpenAI key, chat is free. See Use your own OpenAI key.
- AI images: charged per image. The price shows before you generate.
- Library, upload and crop: free.
The XAGS used so far counter at the bottom right shows what the project has cost. Full prices: What a Studio project costs.
- Logo or image swap: 0.1 Xags per edit.
Edits don’t reach a published site until you publish them. See Publish changes to a live site.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”- “You do not have enough XAGS for this edit.” Your balance doesn’t cover the chat message. Add Xags, then try again.
