Build on your ChatGPT plan
If you pay for ChatGPT Plus, Pro or Team, you can connect that account to Studio. Studio then runs its AI work on your plan’s included usage first, and that work costs no Xags.
What runs on your plan
Section titled “What runs on your plan”With a ChatGPT account connected, these cost 0 Xags:
- The site build
- Page and logo images
- Page writing
- SEO titles, descriptions and H1s
- Schema
- AI chat in the editor
Keyword and competitor research still cost Xags. That data comes from Xagio’s keyword data provider, not from ChatGPT. On a typical site this is a few Xags.
Builds on your own ChatGPT plan don’t count toward your plan’s monthly build limit.
Connect your account
Section titled “Connect your account”- In Studio, open the profile menu at the top right and click Account.
- Under Your ChatGPT subscriptions, click Connect ChatGPT. A ChatGPT sign-in opens in a new tab.
- Sign in to ChatGPT in that tab.
- When you’re done, the tab shows a page that doesn’t load, with an address starting with
http://localhost:1455/auth/callback?code=. That’s expected. - Copy the whole address from that tab’s address bar.
- Back in Studio, paste it into the box and click Finish.
You see “ChatGPT account connected. New builds use it first.” The account shows as Ready, with when it was Connected and Last used.
You can connect more than one account. Click Connect another ChatGPT account and repeat the steps.
Choose the model
Section titled “Choose the model”Each connected account has a Model for builds setting.
- Automatic uses the model Studio recommends for your plan. This is the best choice for most people.
- A different model can change how the pages turn out and how much of your plan each build uses.
If the model you pick isn’t available, Studio falls back to the automatic one. Images always use Studio’s image model.
When your plan hits its limit
Section titled “When your plan hits its limit”ChatGPT plans have usage limits that reset on a schedule. The usage bars on each account show how much you’ve used and when it resets.
Under When every connected plan reaches its limit, pick what Studio does:
- Pause the build until my plan resets. Nothing extra is spent. Pages already built are kept, and the build carries on by itself after the reset.
- Keep building with XAGS (or Keep building on my own OpenAI key, if you’ve added one). The rest of the build is charged at Studio’s normal rate, or billed to your OpenAI account if you have a key saved.
Account statuses
Section titled “Account statuses”- Ready: the account is connected and Studio uses it first.
- Limit reached, resets [time]: Studio follows your choice above until the reset.
- Sign-in expired, connect it again: click Connect ChatGPT and sign in again.
- This plan cannot run Studio builds: the ChatGPT plan on that account doesn’t have access to the models Studio builds with. Use a Plus, Pro or Team plan.
Disconnect an account
Section titled “Disconnect an account”Click Disconnect on the account, then Disconnect again to confirm. New builds go back to your OpenAI key if you have one, or to Studio’s normal pricing. Sites already built aren’t affected.
ChatGPT plan or OpenAI key?
Section titled “ChatGPT plan or OpenAI key?”- ChatGPT plan: uses a subscription you already pay a flat fee for. Best if you have Plus, Pro or Team.
- OpenAI key: pay-as-you-go at OpenAI’s API prices. See Use your own OpenAI key.
You can have both. Studio uses your ChatGPT plan first, and your key when the plan is at its limit (if you choose that).
