Import a Project Planner CSV into Studio
If you already planned a site in Xagio Project Planner, you can upload its CSV export when you create a Studio project. Studio uses the pages and keywords in the file instead of researching and grouping keywords again. Competition data and SEO titles already in the file are kept too.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- A CSV export of your project from Project Planner (under 5 MB).
- The same Xags balance and free project slot as any new project. See Start a new project.
Import the CSV
Section titled “Import the CSV”- Click New project and complete the Type and Business steps. The Business name is required.
- On the Start step, under Import from Project Planner (optional), click Choose CSV and pick your export file.
- Check the preview. It shows the file name, how many pages and keywords it contains, and, when the file has them, how many keywords have competition data and how many pages have SEO optimizations. It also shows which stages Studio skips and where it starts.
- Check Service and Business location. Studio fills them from the file’s project name when it can. Correct them if needed: they are still used to write your page content.
- Optionally tick the re-run options (see below).
- Complete the Media, Plan and Scripts steps.
- Click Import project.
Studio creates the project and opens it. To use a different file before importing, click Remove file.
Re-run options
Section titled “Re-run options”These appear only when the file already has the data.
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Re-check competition | Measures inTitle and inURL again for every keyword. Costs credits. Leave it off to keep the competition data you already have from Project Planner. |
| Re-generate SEO optimizations | Writes new titles, descriptions and H1s. Costs credits and replaces the imported ones. |
Keywords in the file that have no competition data are always measured, so the SEO stage can run. The preview tells you how many.
What happens next
Section titled “What happens next”- With Let me review the plan, Studio opens the plan so you can review the pages and click Optimize. See Work with your plan.
- With Build it for me, Studio continues through competition, SEO, content and images, then builds the site.
What it costs
Section titled “What it costs”Importing skips the research and AI grouping charges. You pay only for competition data that is missing or that you choose to re-check, for SEO you choose to re-generate, and for the content, images and build stages that follow. See What a Studio project costs.
