Import keywords (Keyword Planner, Keyword Supremacy, CSV) and export projects

You can fill a project from a CSV file instead of typing keywords by hand, and you can export your work to CSV at any time. Importing and exporting do not cost Xags.

  1. Open the project you want to import into.
  2. Select Keywords > Import CSV. The Import Keywords From CSV window opens.
  3. Drag your CSV file into the window, or select it, and then select Upload.

The window accepts these formats:

  • Adwords Keyword Planner CSV: the default export from Google Ads Keyword Planner.
  • Keyword Supremacy CSV: the export from the My Searches page in Keyword Supremacy.
  • SurferSEO CSV: Xagio creates one group per cluster in the file.
  • Custom CSV: one keyword per row in the format Keyword,Volume,CPC.

Keywords shorter than 3 characters are skipped.

  1. Open the project you want to import into.
  2. Select Keywords > Import From Keyword Supremacy.
  3. Keyword Supremacy opens in a new window. Send your results from there.

When the import finishes, you see “Data from KeywordSupremacy has been successfully imported!”

  1. On the folder list, select Manage > Import Existing Project, or select the import icon on a folder.
  2. Choose the Project Folder.
  3. Drag in the CSV file you exported from Xagio.

The project is created with its groups, titles, URLs, descriptions, H1s and keyword data.

  • One project: in the folder, select Export this project on the project row.
  • All projects: select Manage > Export All Projects.
  • Selected groups: open the project, tick the groups, and select Groups > Export Selected Groups.
  • Keywords: open the project and select Keywords > Export Keywords.

A project export lists the project name, the number of groups, then each group with its keywords. You can import this file back with Import Existing Project.

  • “Please load a project first and try again to import data from KeywordSupremacy!”: open a project before you start the import.
  • “File is empty” or “No data found in file”: check that the file has rows and is saved as CSV.
  • “Please select at least one group.”: tick at least one group before Export Selected Groups.
  • “No keywords for export in this project”: add keywords before you export.
