Preview your built site

Once Studio builds your site, it opens in the site editor. You can look through every page there, or open the site in its own browser tab to test it the way a visitor would.

Your project needs at least one built page. While a build is running, pages appear in the editor as they are written.

  1. Open the project from All projects. A built site opens in the editor.
  2. To change page, click All pages above the preview and pick one. Links inside the preview also move between pages.
  3. Use the desktop and mobile buttons above the preview to switch the preview width.
  4. To give the preview more room, hide the chat panel with its hide button. Click the show button to bring it back. You can also drag the edge of the chat panel to resize it.

The Plan | Editor toggle at the top left switches between this editor and your project’s plan page (keywords, pages and SEO).

Click Preview Site in the top bar. The site opens in a new browser tab at its own address, starting on the page you are viewing in the editor.

The preview tab is a real web page, so you can test it in browser tools, on a phone, or run a speed test on it. Only you can open it: it requires your Xagio sign-in, and other people can’t see it.

After your site is published, Preview Site is replaced by Live Site, which opens your live domain in a new tab.

  • “This page has not been built yet.” The page is in your plan but hasn’t been built.
  • “The build stopped before this page was written. Pick it back up to carry on.” The build stalled. Resume it from the build progress panel.
  • “That page is not part of this website yet.” You clicked a link to a page that isn’t in the site.
