Add and remove tracked keywords

Rank Tracker checks where a domain ranks for your keywords on the search engine, country and city you choose. You can track any domain: one of your own sites or a competitor’s.

Before you start

Section titled “Before you start”
  • Your plan needs Rank Tracker. If it doesn’t, the page shows a disabled overlay.
  • You need enough Xags to add the keywords. See What it costs.

Add a site and keywords

Section titled “Add a site and keywords”
  1. In the sidebar, under REPORTING, select Rank tracker.
  2. Select Add tracking. The Add External Domain window opens. If you have connected a Google account with Search Console, pick Xagio Tracking for the steps below. (Search Console Tracking adds keywords from your own Search Console for free, Google only, by country.)
  3. In URL, enter the domain, for example example.com.
  4. In Keywords, enter one keyword per line. If your list is separated by commas, paste it and select Convert to put each keyword on its own line. Clear empties the box.
  5. In Search Engine, pick one or more search engines.
  6. Pick a Country. To track a city, pick it in Location.
  7. Pick a Depth: how many pages of search results Xagio reads to find the site.
  8. Select Add Keywords.

The new site appears in the list. Its first rankings show after the first check finishes.

Add more keywords to a site you already track

  1. Find the site in Rank Tracker.
  2. Open Actions and select Add keywords.
  3. Enter the keywords and settings, then select Add Keywords.

Remove keywords

Section titled “Remove keywords”
  1. Tick the keywords you want to remove.
  2. Select the red trash button that appears next to the site.
  3. Confirm.

To remove every keyword for a site, open Actions, select Remove all keywords and confirm. Removing keywords does not refund the Xags spent on adding them.

What it costs

Section titled “What it costs”
  • Adding a keyword costs 0.03 Xags per keyword, per search engine. Five keywords on two search engines cost 0.3 Xags.
  • Each rank check after that costs 0.003 Xags per keyword.

Troubleshooting

Section titled “Troubleshooting”
  • “You are trying to add N keywords which costs X XAGS! You do not have enough XAGS to perform this operation.” Your balance is too low. Add fewer keywords or buy more Xags.
  • “Invalid URL submitted. Please enter a valid domain (e.g. example.com).” Enter only the domain, without extra text.
  • “Please enter some keywords!” The keyword box is empty.
  • “Please enter search engine!” Pick at least one search engine.
  • “Your account is suspended. Please contact support.” Contact support to restore your account.
